rise. those riding out the storm in florida are starting to feel the full impact of the hurricane this morning. ann is taking a closer look at some of the damage already. between florida... the carolina's... and georgia... roughly two mllion people were told to leave their homes. it's the largest mandatory evacuation since superstorm sandy in 2012. officials are warning homes and cut power to millions -- possibly for days... and first responders may not be there to help.the hurricane is threatening to reach a category 4 level this morning. what does that mean exacty.... we're talking roofs peeling back... and widespread damage... with winds reaching more than 1-hundred miles an hour. any structure under 10 fee below the sea level is at
in some areas of florida --- winds have already reached up to 1-hundred and-30 miles an hour. hundreds of workers and volunteers from the american red cross are standing by to help. they're heading south from all areas of the country... including right here in wisconsin. pete zervakis is live with more on those efforts. the american red cross expecting a team of volunteers and staffers to leave from here in milwaukee by 9 a-m today. there are 18 people total from wisconsin heading south to provide disaster relief. other teams left from madison and wausau yesterday. according to the american red cross... a total of 500 disaster workers and 90 response vehicles are standing by in florida...
total... more than 2.5-million been ordered to evacuate in those states. so the red cross says it will open up to 100 shelters in an effort to help. if you want to help, you can do so from right here in wisconsin. you can donate money to the disaster relief efforts - for buying supplies - by texting "redcross" to 90999. live...pz... tmj4 an inmate is back in custody this morning after he was accidently released from waukesha county jail. the inmate... dustin palubicki turned himself in around 10 last night.he was released yesterday from the jail because his sentence was over... however... he is currently wanted in forest county for not paying child support. the mistake is causing nearby resdients to question how could this even have happen in the first
